Google and CIA Plough Millions Into Huge Recorded Future Monitoring Project 290710googleciaGoogle’s cosy relationship with the U.S. spy network has once again been thrust into the spotlight as the company is reported to have jointly invested with the CIA in an Internet monitoring project that scours Twitter accounts, blogs and websites for all sorts of information, and can also “predict the future”.
Google Ventures, the investment arm of Google, has injected a sum of up to $10 million, as has In-Q-Tel – which handles investments for the CIA and the wider intelligence network – into a company called Recorded Future.
The company describes its analytics as “the ultimate tool for open-source intelligence”.
Wired’s defence analyst, Noah Schachtman, has a detailed report on the joint venture:
“…it scours tens of thousands of websites, blogs and Twitter accounts to find the relationships between people, organizations, actions and incidents — both present and still-to-come. In a white paper, the company says its temporal analytics engine “goes beyond search” by “looking at the ‘invisible links’ between documents that talk about the same, or related, entities and events.”
The idea is to figure out for each incident who was involved, where it happened and when it might go down. Recorded Future then plots that chatter, showing online “momentum” for any given event.”
Recorded Future “continually scans thousands of news publications, blogs, niche sources, trade publications, government web sites, financial databases and more,” according to it’s portfolio.
It sifts through millions of posts and conversations taking place on blogs, YouTube, Twitter and Amazon to “assemble actual real-time dossiers on people.”
It is also being integrated with Google Earth, which, as Schachtman points out in his piece, was seeded with In-Q-Tel/CIA investment. This integration will allow real time tracking of the locations of persons or groups as part of the overall intelligence dossier.

Of course, Recorded Future is sold as “terrorism analysis”, however the information scouring engine clearly extends beyond that to include crime, indictments and civil court cases etc. In this context, the ability to predict “future curves” is one small step away from Minority Report policing technology. Indeed, analytics are already being used by the Memphis Police Department, whose Operation Blue CRUSH uses predictive analytics by IBM.
Recorded Future takes in vast amounts of personal information such as employment changes, personal education and family relations. The video also shows categories covering pretty much everything else, including entertainment, music and movie releases, as well as other innocuous things like patent filings and product recalls.

The news comes at the same time as revelations that the government is proposing to grant the FBI powers to force firms such as ISPs to hand over an individual’s data.
We have previously reported on Google’s intimate and long standing connections to government spy networks.
There is also no doubt that Google is one of the corporations at the forefront of the government’s drive to use cybersecurity as a pretext for restricting the openness of the Internet, having previously worked with the NSA and the CIA.
The recent scandal involving the company’s street view roaming vehicles accessing the wi-fi details of internet users and mapping their online activities has also raised serious questions over intelligence links. This latest development will only enhance those concerns.
Recorded Future also smacks of past military and intelligence projects such as Total Information Awareness and MATRIX, LifeLog and the Brain Machine Interfaces enterprise. all designed to target American citizens.

A recent worthwhile read is Angelo M. Codevilla’s piece America’s Rulng Class — And the Perils of Revolution from the July/Aug 2010 issue of The American Spectator (the article so referenced by Rush Limbaugh in his recent acknowledgement of said “ruling class”, and also name checked in the Infowars.com article Clash of the Classes: Does Rush Limbaugh Finally Get It? ). The article speaks the uncomfortable truth about the controlled nature of the phony left-right paradigm; the manufactured political ethos of our dichotomous “Tastes great!” vs. “Less filling!” two-party system. It states clearly and succinctly how we live in a hallucinatory state, convinced that we’re playing some kind of direct and active part in a political process – when, not only is our role dubious, but the process itself a sham. Our power as individual voters has been supplanted by our assumed (but ultimately weak) collective influence as members of parties – parties which not only fail to truly reflect our beliefs and aspirations, but which are, in fact, controlled by a “ruling class”, as he puts it, and which march forward under an inertia not much effected by our individual will. And the system – that is, the ruling class – likes it this way.
For all of Codevilla’s refreshing insightfulness and very articulate writing, there is to be found only one thing missing: He stops short of making the larger, overarching connection between this American ruling class, or elite, which he examines and the Globalist interests with whom they’re both allied and serve. He comes close to such an idea, however, inasmuch as he repeatedly references (with due sarcasm) the push for Americans to join the “enlightened” international community (i.e. transmuting America into just another European–like state). It’s unclear whether this omission is because he simply doesn’t recognize any such cadre of international power brokers, or, conversely, he does recognize them, but preferred to keep his review of the political machine Amero–centric. Notwithstanding the latter, this is hardly outside the purview of an investigation into such an elite assembly, for even if the focus is American in nature, it seems clear, using dead reckoning, that an American ruling class can’t, and doesn’t, operate in a vacuum.
To enumerate as descriptively as he does, our current fraudulent system of elitist control which we benignly label as our body politic, begs the question of to what purposed end are these actors playing? The obvious answer is that we’re not just fighting a domestic ruling class; we’re fighting a global ruling class — a global network of elitists, whose machinations operate at various national levels, but whose aims are global. This is no more apparent and manifest than in the various subversive movements of our traitorous federal officials who support and promote all nature of policies and international agreements which not only foist ever — increasing controls upon us, but which ultimately undermine our very national sovereignty. The only reason a government or subset ruling class would have for intentionally seeking to sign away their sovereignty – our sovereignty — is in the interest or conviction that they’re joining a larger establishment. In which case, a discussion of this cabal which reaches out beyond our own Americana, is absolutely appropriate and necessary. Otherwise, exposing only part of this grand scheme is for naught. That said, if Mr. Codevilla’s article wakes up even a small handful of our fellow citizens to the fact that their political system is a synthetic one, we should regard it as a functional stepping stone to the larger truth.
Whether or not we, the Country Class (as Codevilla refers to the rest of us who are neither members nor funcionaries of the elite), with all of our differences, have eyes to see and ears to hear the soft whispers or the brazen shouting of Global Governance, such a ruling class — or even the slightest indications of it — should be monitored vigilantly by all of us and resisted unconditionally when we encounter it.

National Service Act, and it was referred to the House
Armed Services Subcommittee on Military Personnel
on July 23. Even though the bill does not have
co-sponsors, it is currently under debate.

5741, and what this does is to make everyone between
the ages of 18 and 42 – whether they’re men or women, whether they’re straight or gay – to have the opportunity to defend this great country whenever the president truly believes that our national security is threatened,” Rangel said from the floor of the House.
Rangel specifically said the legislation is designed to be used “during time of war.” On the day before Rangel’s slavery bill went to the House Armed Services Subcommittee on Military Personnel, Texas Rep. Louis Buller Gohmert introduced House Resolution 1553. It has since been referred to the Committee on Foreign Affairs.
“Expressing support for the State of Israel’s right to defend Israeli sovereignty, to protect the lives and safety of the Israeli people, and to use all means necessary to confront and eliminate nuclear threats posed by the Islamic Republic of Iran, including the use of military force if no other peaceful solution can be found within reasonable time to protect against such an immediate and existential threat to the State of Israel,” Gohmert’s resolution states.
Language contained in the resolution condemns Iran “for its threats of annihilating the United States and the State of Israel” (threats Iran has never issued) and supports the use of “all means of persuading the Government of Iran to stop building and acquiring nuclear weapons” (nuclear weapons Iran does not have and does not possess the capability to produce). Gohmert’s bill supports Israel’s “right” to use “all means necessary to confront and eliminate nuclear threats posed by Iran.”
In 2007, Mohamed El Baradei, at the time the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, said Iran did not have nuclear material and also stated that the country did not have a weaponization program.
Also in 2007, the National Intelligence Council, where U.S. mid-term and long-term strategic policy is formulated for the intelligence community, stated “with moderate-to-high confidence… Iran does not currently have a nuclear weapon.”
“There is no evidence that Iran has made a decision to produce nuclear weapons,” said Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov while speaking out against sanctions on Iran.
In July 21, the day before Gohmert introduced House Resolution 1553, Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said the U.S. and Russia know that Iran does not have any nuclear weapons.
Despite the fact there is no evidence of an Iranian nuclear weapons program and no indication Iran plans to attack Israel, let alone the absurd notion it will attack the United States, Israel and the United States are preparing to attack Iran. The claim Iran plans to attack the United States is ironically reminiscent of the neocon accusation that Saddam Hussein planned to attack the U.S., one of several obvious falsehoods used as an excuse to invade.
“Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak of Israel have been shuttling between Washington and Tel Aviv, pushing for crippling economic sanctions that even they concede will not change Iran’s nuclear policy. These sanctions are being put in place, both by the United States and its allies. The open prediction that they will fail is meant to indicate just one thing — military attacks are inevitable,” writes Muhammad Sahimi for PBS. “The rhetorical rationale for attacking Iran keeps coming out of Washington. Most astonishingly, there is a resolution before the U.S. Congress, signed by one-third of the Republican caucus, that urges support for Israeli military attacks on Iran…. The resolution, H. Res. 1553, represents a green light for a bombing campaign. It provides explicit support for military strikes.”
The bomb Iran consensus was underscored late last month when former CIA director Michael Hayden told CNN’s State of the Union that a military attack against Iran “seems inexorable.” Hayden added that in his “personal thinking, I have begun to consider that that may not be the worst of all possible outcomes.” In other words, for Hayden, mass murder is preferable to diplomacy.
“The next step is tough sanctions, economic sanctions. Frankly it’s a last chance for Iran to avoid giving the rest of the world, including the United States, a hard choice between allowing Iran to go nuclear and using military power to stop them from doing that,” said Sen. Joe Lieberman in April.
“We have to contemplate the final option,” said Sen. Evan Bayh, D-Ind., “the use of force to prevent Iran from getting a nuclear weapon.”
“The administration needs to expand its approach and make clear to the Iranian regime and the American people: If diplomatic and economic pressures do not compel Iran to terminate its nuclear program, the U.S. military has the capability and is prepared to launch an effective, targeted strike on Tehran’s nuclear and supporting military facilities,” former senator Charles S. Robb and retired general Charles Wald wrote for the Washington Post on July 9.
Slaughtering innocents is a “terrible thing,” said Sen. Lindsay Graham, R-S.C., but “sometimes it is better to go to war than to allow the Holocaust to develop a second time.”
Graham made this ludicrous statement regardless of the fact Iran has never threatened to attack Israel. It is based on a mistranslation of a speech delivered by Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad published in the New York Times.
The Times played a big role in the Iraq invasion when Judith Miller published neocon lies about aluminum tubes and other such patently fallacious nonsense. Neocon lies ultimately resulted in the murder of more than a million Iraqis, a total approaching Nazi war crimes.
As should be expected, the neocons figure big in the Iran attack plot now unfolding. “If military force is ever employed, it should be done in a decisive fashion. The Iran government’s ability to wage conventional war against its neighbors and our troops in the region should not exist. They should not have one plane that can fly or one ship that can float.” Danielle Pletka of the American Enterprise Institute wrote earlier this year.
In other words, according to neocons over at the criminal organization largely responsible for mass murder in Iraq, Iran should be reduced to a parking lot in order to prevent it from responding to an attack.
Neocon Reuel Marc Gerecht explains how the United States will be sucked into an Israeli-launched attack against Iran. “What is important to understand about this campaign is that the aim of Gerecht and of the right-wing government of Benjamin Netanyahu is to support an attack by Israel so that the United States can be drawn into direct, full-scale war with Iran,” writes historian Gareth Porter.
That has long been the Israeli strategy for Iran, because Israel cannot fight a war with Iran without full U.S. involvement. Israel needs to know that the United States will finish the war that Israel wants to start.
Gerecht openly expresses the hope that any Iranian response to the Israeli attack would trigger full-scale U.S. war against Iran. “If Khamenei has a death-wish, he’ll let the Revolutionary Guards mine the strait, the entrance to the Persian Gulf,” writes Gerecht. “It might be the only thing that would push President Obama to strike Iran militarily….”
Self defense is not an option. If Iran responds to an attack — and its leadership has stated repeatedly it will — the U.S. will become directly involved.
“Gerecht’s argument for war relies on a fanciful nightmare scenario of Iran doling out nuclear weapons to Islamic extremists all over the Middle East. But the real concern of the Israelis and their lobbyists, as Gerecht’s past writing has explicitly stated, is to destroy Iran’s Islamic regime in a paroxysm of U.S. military violence,” writes Porter.
This “paroxysm of U.S. military violence” will undoubtedly call for adding a fresh crop of bullet-stoppers and that is where H.R. 5721 comes into play. As Rangel noted, his bill will provide under government imposed mandate that “everyone between the ages of 18 and 42 – whether they’re men or women, whether they’re straight or gay – to have the opportunity to defend this great country” from imaginary and trumped-up enemies.
Rangel’s bill may never make it out of committee. The attack on Iran, however, is all but a foregone conclusion.
Big Think, a website that interviews scientists and experts in various fields
has begun a month-long series called, “Dangerous Ideas” and the first post
features drugging the public water supply. The expert they interviewed for
this story is Jacob M. Appel, a bioethicist and medical historian, who has
written in favor of adding lithium to the public water supply. He states clearly
that he believes lithium and other “enhancers” are beneficial additions to
our public water supply and any opposition is based on false assumptions that
natural water is better than artificially enhanced water.
He expanded on this claim in his 2009 article featured in Huffington Post. In the article he cites a Japanese study claiming that lithium reduces suicides.
Meanwhile, the New York Times has published a story admitting that drugs are currently in the public water supply. These drugs include Ibuprofen, Naproxen, anti-epileptic and anti-anxiety drugs.
Earlier this week, Aaron Dykes wrote a detailed article in response to an Oxford professor calling for adding drugs to the water supply.
'She should not be a justice when she's defrauded the Supreme Court'
Breaking News: Declaration Alliance has retained noted corruption watchdog attorney Larry Klayman to file an ethics complaint seeking to have Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan disbarred from practicing before the court she aspires to join – and possibly subjected to criminal prosecution – for her role in an escalating scandal.

Kagan's inserted language misled the federal courts, including the Supreme Court, into upholding for nearly a decade legal protections for the heinous practice known as partial-birth abortion that 30 states had attempted to ban. Klayman, founder of the Judicial Watch and Freedom Watch USA public interest law groups, is bringing the complaint at the behest of Declaration Alliance, the national pro-life social welfare organization founded in 1996 by Ambassador Alan Keyes.

The complaint alleges Kagan fraudulently altered an official scientific report used as evidence by the Supreme Court to persuade the justices to overturn bans on partial-birth abortion -- and then recently lied about her actions under oath.
Dozens of pro-life organizations are already calling for a Senate investigation of Kagan's 1997 alterations to an American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) expert report, which was then relied upon by the Supreme Court as medical, scientific justification for overturning Nebraska's partial-birth abortion ban in 2000.
In her confirmation hearings, Kagan may have perjured herself during the course of Justice Committee questioning about her actions in having altered the report. She defended her participation in political meetings and editing of the report by stating, "My only dealings with ACOG were about talking with them about how to ensure that their statement expressed their views."
In light of detailed review and analysis by Americans United for Life Action and other groups of Kagan's contemporaneous documentation on these matters, there can be no doubt that this testimony is false and misleading. Kagan's amended language to the ACOG report was politically negotiated and strategized, and it dramatically changed the meaning of the ACOG statement. Court records show the ACOG report as altered by Kagan was passed off to the Supreme Court as official scientific opinion, even though the ACOG's panel of scientists never reviewed or approved Kagan's wording.
Declaration Alliance believes Kagan's behind-the-scenes work constitutes "conspiracy to defraud the Supreme Court," and in the public interest is urgently taking the evidence that has been compiled by pro-life groups and exposed in Kagan's confirmation hearings to file a complaint before the clerk's office of the U.S. Supreme Court, seeking to have Kagan disbarred as a practicing lawyer in front of the Supreme Court.
And on advice of counsel, Declaration Alliance will not stop there.
States Klayman, "Then I'm going to ask the Supreme Court to refer the matter to the Justice Department for criminal investigation and possibly prosecution of obstruction of justice, because it was reasonably foreseeable that her altering that [ACOG] report would ultimately be used in court proceedings, including but not limited to the Supreme Court."
Even if Kagan is confirmed by a vote in the Senate, Declaration Alliance will not give up the fight. "If she is ultimately confirmed – and we can hope that she will not be – then we will go to phase two, which will be impeachment," stated Klayman.
Klayman concludes, "Elena Kagan should not be a justice of the Supreme Court when she's defrauded the Supreme Court. In fact, she shouldn't even be allowed to practice in front of the Supreme Court under these circumstances."
